The Crystal Coast’s most delicious dining destination
With a long history of world-class fishing, North Carolina’s Crystal Coast is famous for its local seafood. Certainly, Beaufort is no exception. But, the sea is only where our cuisine starts in our historic seaport.
Food and drink make up a big part of Beaufort. You don’t have to go far in any direction to find amazing chefs, locally-sourced meals, and great restaurants. You’ll discover a variety of restaurants serving up dishes both traditional and creative cuisine, from North Carolina seafood and barbecue to classic bistro fare. Many local restaurants feature North Carolina craft beers and wines. There are family-friendly eateries, pubs, and romantic gourmet destinations, many with history and stories as delicious as the food.
So, it’s no wonder Beaufort is home to one of the most well-known food festivals in the country with Beaufort Wine & Food. The non-profit organization serves up several year-round events to benefit of Carteret County charities. The highlight is the annual Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend in April (yes, the weekend runs for five days). Named a “Top 20 Event in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society, guest chefs are paired with local chefs for creative wine dinners and tastings, an amazing champagne brunch, and a grand reserve auction. The event culminates with their popular Vin de Mer Epicurean Village.
With a wealth of independently-owned restaurants, Beaufort is a place where cravings can be satisfied many times over and where new experiences can be found. Discover the freshest seasonal ingredients as you savor our local flavors from “farm to table” and “dock to dish.” Be inspired! Be in Beaufort.
